Weather of Uttar Pradesh was running almost dry since the last many days. However, occasional light dust storm or thundershower activities occurred over western parts of Uttar Pradesh in the wake of Western Disturbances, but eastern parts remained mainly dry with only isolated rains at times. For instance, scattered rains were reported at Ghazipur, Varanasi and Jhansi, a day before yesterday.
Now, however, many parts of the state will start receiving on and off rain activities for at least the next three to four days. Due to a Cyclonic Circulation over Southeast Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas combined with the easterly flow of winds from Bay of Bengal, we expect light to moderate rains at many places over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh during the next two to three days, lasting until June 24. Gradually the rain belt will shift over Central parts of Uttar Pradesh over places like Kanpur and Lucknow.
By June 25, we expect rains will appear over western parts of Uttar Pradesh as well. These western parts will be affected by upcoming Western Disturbance which will start affecting the Western Himalayas from June 23 onward. In the wake of that Western Disturbance, we expect that Western parts of Uttar Pradesh may receive light rains or June 24 and 26. Intensity may increase over June 25 and 26.
So, entire Uttar Pradesh is all set to get rains. This will also mark the onset of Monsoon over Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next two to three days.
