Moderate rain with isolated heavy spells occurred over many parts of Maharashtra during last 24 hours. Ratnagiri, Mahabaleshwar, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Bir, Jalgaon and Jalna recorded heavy showers. Similarly, parts of south and East Madhya Pradesh witnessed good rain.
A cyclonic circulation over west Central and adjoining Central parts of Bay of Bengal will induce a low-pressure area soon. This low-pressure area will travel in a westerly direction across Odisha and South Chhattisgarh up to Madhya Pradesh.
Parts of Maharashtra and many parts of Madhya Pradesh may receive active monsoon rains during next 3 to 4 days at least up to September 9. Northeast Madhya Pradesh Mein receive light rain during this period. Places like Sidhi, Satna, Singrauli and Panna may witness light showers.
Between June 1 and September 4, Maharashtra is surplus by 2% and Madhya Pradesh is deficient by 8%. This rain is spell will certainly improve the rain statistics of both States.
The low-pressure area is expected to persist over north Central part of a Madhya Pradesh until September 10 or 11. Therefore rain activities will reduce over Maharashtra post September 9 but many parts of west and north Madhya Pradesh Mein continue with active monsoon conditions.
