As on August 25, the entire state of Madhya Pradesh had been witnessing excess Monsoon rains. And the numbers do prove the heavy downpour over the state. At present there are multiple weather systems that are willing to shower more rains over the state.
The axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Anupgarh, Agra, Satna, Pendra, Gopalpur and then toward east-central Bay of Bengal. A fresh cyclonic circulation has formed over South Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh between 3.6 kms & 5.8 kms above sea level.
Another cyclonic circulation has intensified into a low pressure area over Andhra Pradesh coast. This system is likely to move in a northwest direction.
The amalgamation of these multiple systems is likely to increase the rainfall activity. This increased rainfall activity will happen initially over East Madhya Pradesh. At present East Madhya Pradesh has a respectable rainfall surplus figure of 32%.
This rainfall activity will gradually cover the entire state. Mainly moderate rains are expected after 24 hours over the entire state. Till then light rain spells will continue over entire state with few moderate showers here and there.
In the last 24 hours, significant rainfall was recorded in the southeast parts of Madhya Pradesh. Seoni recorded a mammoth 118 mm, Jabalpur 61 mm, Khajuraho 17 mm, Sagar 16 mm and Umaria received 14 mm.
