Rain activity recorded in a span of 24 hours, Akola 78 mm, Ratnagiri 38 mm, Vengurla 31 mm, Amravati 13 mm, Sangli 9 mm and Washim 8 mm.

As per Skymet Weather, we can expect intensification in rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan and Goa. This could be attributed to the formation of an off shore trough that will extend from North Coastal Maharashtra up to Karnataka Coast.

Further ahead, Vidarbha region may receive a few spells of rainfall during the next 24 to 48 hours. This would be in the wake of a cyclonic circulation that is over west central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Coast. This weather system is moving across Telangana and Vidarbha.

As per weather expert, the rainfall intensity will be relatively less over Northern parts of Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra. But isolated rains cannot be ruled out over these areas.

Due to good rainfall over Southern parts of Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra, we can expect Monsoon to reach South Maharashtra in the next 48 hours.
