June 4, 2018 4:46 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Monsoon arrived over the northeastern states of the country between June 1 and 2 when it touched the state of Tripura. Prior to its arrival also, most parts of Northeast India were witnessing good on and off pre-Monsoon spells that intensified with Monsoon arrival.

As of now, Monsoon has advanced further to some parts of northeastern states. Currently, the Northern limit of Monsoon (NLM) is passing through Shirali, Chitradurga, Arogyavaram, Sriharikota, Agartala, Lumding, and North Lakhimpur.

Though the rains reduced over most parts of Northeast India on the past day and light rains occurred over NMMT (Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura) region, however, rains were subdued over Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh.
