Southwest Monsoon made its onset over Delhi NCR quite late this year. So much so that it was late by around two weeks and Monsoon arrived over the national capital on July 13, which was one of the latest arrivals in the past many years.
While Monsoon displayed a good performance for Delhi and the NCR, it looks like Monsoon took its time to bid farewell to the capital city of India. The normal date for Monsoon withdrawal is September 25 for Delhi and the NCR region. However, it has been ten days, and Monsoon has not yet withdrawn from Delhi.
In fact, Southwest Monsoon has taken its time to begin the withdrawal process and started only on October 6. Now since the withdrawal has already begun from West Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat, it is only for the next three to four days that Southwest Monsoon will bid a late goodbye to Delhi and the NCR.
Therefore, Monsoon will bid its final adieu to Delhi in the next 72 hours, until next year. Till then, Delhiites can wait for a couple of months for those coffee and tea laden wintry evenings and nights.
