September 2, 2023 3:14 PM |

Light scattered rain with one or two moderate spells has been going on over coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, most of Telangana is dry with isolated light rain.

Rain activities will now increase over north Andhra Pradesh and many parts of Telangana. A cyclonic circulation is over the northeast Bay of Bengal and another cyclonic circulation is over the west-central Bay of Bengal near the Andhra Pradesh coast at around 5.8 Km above mean Sea level. In the wake of these weather systems, there will be a significant increase in weather activities.

Telangana has a rain surplus of 8%, coastal Andhra Pradesh is deficient by 10% and Rayalaseema is deficient by 30%. Low pressure area is likely to form over the Northwest Bay of Bengal by September 5th. It will move in the west direction leading to moderate to heavy rain over the northern districts of Andhra Pradesh and many parts of Telangana. There are chances of flash floods and waterlogging in some parts of Telangana.

However, rain activities will be comparatively less over the Rayalaseema. Rain is expected to continue over both the states until September 7. The low-pressure area will gradually recurve in the northeast direction towards Madhya Pradesh and thereafter over the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. Rain will start increasing over Central and Eastern parts of the country and will reduce over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
