The axis of monsoon trough is now moving to the north and gradually, it will be over the foothills of Himalayas. The weather of Northwest India will go dry after 24 hours.
The eastern parts of the country, particularly East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Northwest Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh and parts of Odisha may receive moderate rain with few heavy spells in coming days. During last 24 hours, heavy rain occurred over Supaul, Gaya, Patna, Ghazipur in east Uttar Pradesh, Sidhi, Ambikapur, Baripada and Daltonganj.
Although Monsoon trough is moving to the north, but a cyclonic circulation is expected to persist over a east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining Bihar leading to moderate to heavy showers over many parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal.
A few good spells are also possible over northern parts of Orissa, Northeast Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh during next 3 to 4 days. There may be flood like situation or flash floods in Eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Monsoon will remain active over eastern parts of the country. Weather will be almost dry over Northwest and most parts of Central India. Monsoon over south Peninsula will also remain subdued.
