The Northern Plains of the country have been receiving good rain. Punjab and Haryana are in rain excess, whereas Delhi is large rain excess. Conditions are favourable for active monsoon conditions over these states.
The cyclonic circulation is over Northwest Rajasthan and adjoining parts of Haryana. The axis of the monsoon trough will also shift over the Indo-Gangetic plains. Moreover, humid winds from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea will also increase moisture over North India. All the above weather parameters will ensure that the monsoon remains active over these states during the next 3 to 4 days.
Punjab and parts of Haryana will receive moderate to heavy showers on July 8 and 9. Rain activities over Delhi will also be moderate until July 11. There are chances of water logging and flash floods over some parts of Punjab and Haryana. Rain activities will start reducing from July 12th onward. The weather will not go completely dry. Light to moderate rain may continue thereafter as well. The weather will become pleasant. These rain activities will certainly help farmers.
We think that scattered rain may continue over the northern plains next week. Rain surplus will increase further.
