Monsoon to arrive in Ranchi, Patna, Gaya, Varanasi, Allahabad soon

Southwest Monsoon has made further advancement after remaining stagnant for a long time. In fact, it has also covered some more parts of Odisha and West Bengal as well. Meanwhile, Monsoon is expected to make further onset over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand as well as eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

As far as the rainfall activity over all these states are concerned, some heavy showers were seen over isolated pockets of West Bengal while light to moderate showers were seen over parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Bankura recorded heavy rains to the tune of 74 mm, Gaya 30 mm, Chandbali 21 mm, Daltonganj 17 mm, Bhubaneswar 16 mm, Koraput 26 mm, Varanasi 3 mm.

These rains have been attributed to the presence of a cyclonic circulation over Bihar and adjoining East Uttar Pradesh. A trough is also extending from this system to Assam region across the foothills of Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, moderate to heavy rains are expected to occur over the states of Jharkhand and Bihar while moderate showers are also expected over Odisha, West Bengal and Odisha.

Soon, Southwest Monsoon will advance over Patna, Ranchi, Gaya, Jamshedpur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Allahabad soon.
