After reeling under dry, hot and uneasy weather conditions, the weather of parts of Northwest Plains saw some minor improvement today. Isolated pockets of Delhi NCR, Haryana and Punjab witnessed some light Monsoon rains. This clearly indicates the sign of Monsoon revival over the plains of Northwest India.
The weather also is in no mood to return to the hot and dry condition again as we expect one or two short spells of rains to occur over parts of West Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, parts of Haryana, and North Rajasthan.
The intensity of these rains is expected to increase gradually July 11 onwards. During that time, we can expect a few spell of good rains to occur over all these above-mentioned regions including over Punjab.

As per Skymet Weather, the northwesterly winds have already been replaced by the warm and humid easterlies. These winds are in-turn increasing the moisture content over the region. In addition to this, a prominent trough is also expected to develop from North Punjab to West Uttar Pradesh.
Moreover, the cyclonic circulation which is over Odisha and adjoining area would also gradually move in a northwest direction and would merge with the Axis of Monsoon trough.
These systems would be responsible for bringing in some good rains. Thus, on and off rains are expected to continue until July 15 or 16. Due to these rains, the temperatures would also witness a drop. However, in the presence of moisture, the weather would remain sultry an there seems no respite from the same.
