Monsoon revives in Odisha, fairly widespread rain likely in Titilagarh, Nabarangpur and Jharsuguda

Monsoon rains have remained on the heavier side in some parts of Odisha, wherein Chandbali and adjoining area recorded heavy showers during the last 24 hours.

The reason can be attributed to the fresh Cyclonic Circulation induced over the Northwest Bay of Bengal. As this system will remain intact, fairly widespread rain and thundershower activities will lash Odisha during the coming days.

Places like that of Titilagarh, Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhargarh, Sundargarh, Angul, etc are likely to get drenched today.

The intensity for most of the areas will oscillate between light and moderate along with a few heavy spells, that may occur during the next 48 hours. Thereafter, the system would intensify into a Low-Pressure Area and gradually start moving towards Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Due to this intensification, moderate to heavy rains are likely in many parts of Odisha. However, as of now, we do not foresee any possibility of flooding.

The rainfall activity was minimal over Odisha during the last few days, wherein the eastern parts, in particular, were deprived of any significant showers. However, the revival of Monsoon may change this scenario.

All these rains are very useful for the present crops such as paddy, coconut, and Supari.
