September made a thumping start in Delhi-NCR, giving rains for straight seven days. Moderate to heavy rains, kept the weather extremely pleasant contrary to the fact that the month is known for hot and sultry weather.

In fact, national capital surpassed its monthly average rainfall during the first week of the month only. However, post that, weather has been mainly dry and clear, paving way bright sunshine. As a result, we saw temperatures increasing, marking return of warm weather. Only relief was drop in humidity levels.

Weather would continue to remain dry for another 24 hours, however, the city is now gearing up for another spell of rains.

According to Skymet Weather, good news is store as we can expect rain weekend ahead. Potential depression is brewing in Bay of Bengal, which is likely to move in inland in west direction towards Central India. As a result, dry northwesterly winds will be replaced by humid southeasterly winds.

Although the system at present is marked over Bay of Bengal, but peripheral of the system would be able to impact the weather over the national capital.

As per weathermen, we can expect isolated light rain over Delhi and adjoining areas of Faridabad, Gurugram, Noida and Ghaziabad on September 21. Now as the system moves closer to the region, we can expect rains to pick up pace on September 22. Like the earlier one, this spell would again be prolonged one, which would continue till September 26.

Simultaneously, a fresh Western Disturbance would also start affecting Jammu and Kashmir. Interaction between both the systems would further intensify the rain activity.

Thus, by September 23 and September 24, we can expect fairly widespread moderate rains with few heavy spells at many parts of the city.

Rains would start retreating by September 25, but light showers cannot be ruled out. Isolated activities could also be seen on September 26.

This approaching rainy spell would once again restrict the rise in temperature. Morning and nights will be pleasant, while day would also not be far behind. We can expect day maximums to settle below 30°C.

This would be last spell of this Monsoon season which would come to an end on September 30.
