Monsoon reaches parts of Andhra; Odisha to wait a little more

Andhra Pradesh and Odisha lie on the east coast of the country. Both the adjoining states have been recording on and off rains for the last few days. The last 24 hours saw some increase in rains over both these states. In fact, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh witnessed 48.2 mm of rains, Kalingapatnam 15 mm, Kurnool and Kakinada 9 mm of rains in the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday.

In the same time frame, Angul in Odisha recorded 25.6 mm of rain, Dhenkanal 16 mm, Keonjhgarh 4.3 mm and Chandbali 2 mm of rains.

In fact, Southwest Monsoon has also made an onset over parts of Andhra Pradesh. Though, the state of Odisha has to wait for its arrival for about two to three days.

As per Skymet Weather, rain intensity is likely to increase further over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Meanwhile, scattered rains are also likely to continue over Odisha.

With Monsoon paving way towards Odisha, the intensity is also expected to increase over the state of Odisha after 24 hours. Meanwhile, after 48 hours, rain is expected to reduce over the state of Andhra Pradesh as the cyclonic circulation which is over Coastal Andhra Pradesh will gradually move towards Telangana.
