Mumbaikars finally have a reason to rejoice, as much awaited Monsoon is finally at its doorstep bringing huge relief from hot and humid weather.
After arriving timely over Goa on June 8, Southwest Monsoon has now inched closer to Mumbai and is expected to make onset between June 11 and June 13.
Mumbai has been witnessing scattered pre-Monsoon rainfall since last three days on account of a cyclonic storm Ashobaa over east-central Arabian Sea. On Monday, city recorded traces of rain, while on Sunday and Saturday it received 4.5 mm and 0.2 mm of rain, respectively.
The intensity of rain over Mumbai will increase gradually now and conditions are favourable for the arrival of the Southwest Monsoon. Nearby stations of Pune have also been witnessing moderate showers since last four to five days.
