Delhi Pollution has been a cause of worry in the national capital of India for quite some time now. From being the most polluted in the world to the odd even policy, Delhi has seen it all in terms of high pollution levels.
Delhi has been witnessing pollution highs for quite some time now. However, as Monsoon rains creep in, Delhiites heave a sigh of relief. Pollution levels take a dip, the sky starts to look like its real self again and those annoying pollutants go into hiding once again.
This year too, the Monsoon season has caused the pollution levels to take a significant dip. Almost all areas in and around the national capital have been witnessing lower pollution levels which fall way below the harmful category.
However, as the Monsoon season will take its leave from the country and slowly winter will creep in, conditions will once again become similar to what it was last year. The problem of pollution is not a short term crisis. In fact, it has been affecting Delhiites for decades now.
The effects of air pollution should not be taken lightly. In fact, stroke, lung cancer, acute and chronic respiratory diseases are all directly related to air pollution. Not only are the adults being affected by the Godzilla air pollution, but even children have started developing these problems at a very early age.
During winter season, the main cause of pollution is the combination of fog and smoke particles which form a layer near the earth’s surface. Thus, pollution will come back and Delhi will choke again.
And even if pollution goes away for a few months, it still remains a long term problem and as soon as seasons change, pollution levels will soar. Only a well-structured plan like that of Mexico will help Delhi breathe free.
