After witnessing some of the most amazing rains this Monsoon, the incessant rains are finally taking a break from Chhattisgarh region.
At present a low pressure area over Northeast Madhya Pradesh has caused fairly widespread light to moderate rains over Chhattisgarh in the last 24 hours. And this rainfall activity is likely to continue over the state with mainly moderate spells at many places.
The rainfall over various region of the state in the last 24 hours are: Ambikapur 25.8 mm, Bilaspur 6.8 mm, Durg 51.2 mm, Jagdalpur 70 mm, Raipur 26.5 mm, Rajnandgaon 29.6 mm of rainfall.
These rainfall activities are likely to go down and the intensity will also gradually decrease as the weather system affecting the state is likely to move in a northwest direction away from the state.
The axis of Monsoon trough which is running close to the North of Chhattisgarh will move away to north direction. However the subdued rainfall activity will continue over the state even after the weather systems have abated the region.
At present, for the Monsoon season staring from June 1 till date, Chhattisgarh’s rainfall is normal by 6% on the positive side. In the last 24 hours, the state recorded average rain figure of 33.2 mm in comparison the normal of 13.4 mm.
