The capital city Hyderabad has been receiving intermittent light rainfall activities since the beginning of July. But, during the last 24 hours, the intensity has increased with moderate rains to the tune of 10 mm being recorded in the city. Good rains are also being observed in Nizamabad and its adjoining areas since the last four to five days.
However, other parts of Telangana are witnessing almost dry weather conditions. According to Skymet, Monsoon rains will revive in entire Telangana around July 18. This is because a Cyclonic Circulation is soon likely to develop over the west-central Bay of Bengal. This system would gradually intensify into a Low-Pressure Area and start moving in a westerly direction towards Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In the wake of the formation of the cyclone and its subsequent movement, light to moderate rains with a few heavy spells will lash Telangana, starting July 18. The intensity and spread of these rains will increase gradually and many parts of Telangana will experience good rains until July 22.
Due to these rains, the rainfall deficiency in the state will go down to a great extent. The water scarcity being faced by the region should also ease out a little as some decent amounts of rain will help in improving water levels in the reservoirs. Cloudy to overcast sky and subsequent rain will help in pulling down the soaring temperatures as well.
