This season is turning out to be very good in terms of rainfall figures. As per Skymet Weather, the reason for these moderate to heavy rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over South Pakistan and adjoining Southwest Rajasthan and another cyclonic circulation over South Gujarat, however presently these weather systems have weakened and hence rains have reduced over entire Gujarat.

Now, isolated rains will continue over interior parts of Gujarat but southern districts will receive light to moderate showers due to an offshore trough which is extending from South Gujarat to Kerala.
Places like Valsad received heavy to extremely heavy rains throughout June and July. On July 3, Ahmedabad witnessed heavy rain of 100 mm and nearby places also received heavy rains. Due to these heavy rains, flood like situations occurred over Ahmedabad that led to chaotic situation.
Temperatures remained in mid 30’s due to heavy rains but now there are chances of temperatures to rise as rain intensity will reduce.
