Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been witnessing a good amount of rainfall activity since last few days. Likewise, moderate Monsoon showers have been occurring over several districts of Andhra Pradesh. Whereas light Monsoon rains were observed by the residents of Odisha.

In a span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Nellore recorded heavy rainfall of 67 mm, followed by Cuddappah at 54.1 mm, Kurnool 51.4 mm, Anantapur 34.2 mm, Titlagarh 19 mm, Bhubneshwar 15.2 mm, Kalingapatnam 15 mm, Tirupathi 9.5 mm, Kakinada 6 mm, Machilipatnam 5.1 mm, Koraput 4.4 mm, Vishakapatnam 3.1 mm and Balasore 1.6 mm.

These weather conditions can be attributed to a cyclonic circulation which is seen over west central Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Northwest Bay of Bengal off South Odisha and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Also, a trough is seen extending from this system up to Tamil Nadu Coast. Plus, this weather system is likely to move gradually towards West.

Therefore, due to the movement of the trough, more Monsoon rain and thundershowers are anticipated to lash several places over Andhra Pradesh as well as Odisha.

Moreover, the intensity of these showers are likely to increase and many places will eventually observe moderate to heavy rainfall activity after 48 hours.
