The arrival of Southwest Monsoon abated the intense heat conditions from the states of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. However, these showers were more widespread along the coastal parts than the interior regions.

As of now, a cyclonic circulation is marked over Gangetic West Bengal, which would give scattered rains over coastal and northern parts of Odisha. During the similar time frame, southern and interior parts will remain dry, however light rain over few places cannot be ruled out.

This makes it apparent that moderate to heavy rains which were seen over Odisha in the last few days will now take a back seat. Another spell of rain is expected to be around July 10, until then heavy showers are not expected over the state.

Likewise, the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh have been observing moderate to heavy showers since last few days; however Rayalaseema continued to witness dry weather conditions. Thus, revival of rains over the area is not anticipated. Residents will have to continue battling with drought like conditions for the next week too.
