Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh have been witnessing on and off Monsoon rains for the last many days. Now, the intensity of rains is all set to increase with the development of the fresh Monsoon system around the region.
According to Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation has developed in North Bay of Bengal. In addition to this, a trough is also extending from this system up South Coastal Andhra Pradesh skirting the East Coast.
These systems are likely to give mainly moderate rains and thundershowers over many parts of Odisha. Besides this, we can expect few spells of moderate showers as well.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rains and thundershowers are also expected over parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. This fresh rainy spell is likely to continue for at least next 48 hours, reducing subsequently.
Thereafter, the system is likely to move inland in north direction. It will then affect more parts of West Bengal and Bihar.
At present, the cumulative rainfall for Coastal Andhra Pradesh stands at 5%, while Odisha is witnessing deficit rainfall by 17%. However, with these good showers in offing, we expect Odisha to cover the rainfall deficiency.
