Monsoon rains over Hyderabad have remained light throughout the month of July. But during the last couple of days, the city has seen increase in intensity of rains. However, these showers are still patchy in nature.
According to Skymet Weather, a trough is expected to develop and run from Madhya Pradesh up to Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Vidarbha and Telangana. As a result, moderate to heavy Monsoon rains are likely to occur over Telangana including Hyderabad.
We can expect light to moderate patchy rains over the city during the next 24 to 48 hours and this on and off rain scenario will continue till July 25. Few places may also record isolated heavy rains.
So far, in the month of July, Hyderabad has received 84.7 mm of rainfall against the monthly average of 179.2 mm of rain.
The city have not seen continuous heavy spells during the entire July. The last time, Hyderabad received some considerable amount of rain was on July 18, when 46 mm of rainfall was recorded.
July and August are the rainiest months for Hyderabad. Skymet Weather predicts, August is likely to perform much better than July in terms of good Monsoon rains.
