The state of Chhattisgarh has experienced moderate rain at isolated places during the last 24 hours. While the Monsoon rains occurred with the light intensity only in Madhya Pradesh.
In the last 24 hours, from 8:30 am on Saturday, Pendra Road has recorded 21 mm of rainfall, followed by Ambikapur 10.5 mm, Seoni 5.6 mm and Dhar 4.5 mm.
According to Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon Trough is running across the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Another system i.e. Cyclonic Circulation is over the North Bay of Bengal, which is likely to move further.
In the wake of these systems, the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers. While the western parts of Madhya Pradesh will experience mostly dry weather with light rain at isolated places for the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, the intensity will increase and enhanced rainfall activities would continue until August 15. During this episode, scattered places may even record heavy showers.
Places like Gwalior, Bhopal, Durg, Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Balaghat and Seoni will record heavy showers. Chances of waterlogging in scattered places cannot be ruled out.
As on August 10, West Madhya Pradesh is a rain surplus by 33%. However, East Madhya Pradesh is still running rain deficient by 10%. Despite rains, the deficiency of Chhattisgarh is sitting at 2%.
