Monsoon made an onset over West Bengal on time and has been giving moderate rainfall across the state. The Sub-Himalayan region of West Bengal will continue receiving moderate to heavy rainfall during the coming days due to active Southwest Monsoon conditions over the area.
However, Gangetic West Bengal will be having warm and humid weather with partly cloudy to cloudy sky conditions. Simultaneously moderate breeze will continue during the next 24-36 hours. Thereafter, light to moderate spells of rain and thundershower can be expected.

In the interior pockets of the state also, light rains can occur at any time. Kolkata will be having dry and humid weather conditions with moderate breeze. Afternoon hours will remain uneasy as humid weather conditions prevail.

Though partly cloudy sky will persist for the next 24-36 hours which may lead to light rain. The intensity will increase thereafter which will reduce the temperatures. Monsoon activities over West Bengal are on the deficient side.
Gangetic West Bengal is low on Monsoon rains while Sub-Himalayan West Bengal is close to normal. Monsoon rains will gain more pace at the end of the month and will splash the state including Kolkata with good Monsoon rainfall.
