Monsoon rains to drench Hyderabad soon

The city of Nizams has not received good rainfall activity from the past many days. But weather pattern took a turn and light Monsoon showers were witnessed by Hyderabad during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, other parts of Telangana too recorded light rains and thundershowers, with one or two places receiving moderate showers.

Nalgonda witnessed heavy rain to the tune of 68 mm in the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Monday, followed by Khammam 46 mm.

In the same span of time, Hyderabad and Hanamkonda witnessed 6.4 mm of Monsoon rains. At present, a cyclonic circulation is seen over west central Bay of Bengal and a trough is extending across Rayalaseema to Arabian Sea.

It is anticipated that this cyclonic circulation is likely to move near the Andhra Pradesh coast. Due to this weather activity, scattered rains are expected to continue over southern districts of Telangana including Hyderabad.

In fact, short spells of rain will continue for the next for two to three days over the city of Nizams. However, rains will not be heavy and widespread but still some parts of the city can get moderate Monsoon rains.

The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy to cloudy at times. As per Skymet Weather, there will not be any major change in temperatures and the weather will remain warm across the state. As on September 25, Telangana is rain deficient by 16 percent.
