Monsoon rains to continue over Manali, Dharamshala, Nainital, Dehradun

The hilly states of North India particularly, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been witnessing very good rains since Monsoon made its arrival over the Northern hills. Ever since then, the weather across the hilly states became pleasant which attracted many tourists to visit the famous hills spots of North India.

At present, a Western Disturbance as an upper air system persists over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. This weather system is moving slowly northeastwards. As this system is not that strong, the rainfall activity remained light to moderate over most parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Friday Nahan in Dharamshala recorded 41 mm of rain, Solan 22,8 mm, Sundernagar 16 mm, Dharamshala 16.2 mm and Manali 11 mm of rain. In the same span of time, Nainital in Uttarakhand witnessed 48.2 mm of rain, Dehradun 37.6 mm, Pantnagar 32.6 mm, Uttarkashi 30 mm, Champavat 20 mm and Joshimath 16 mm of rain.

As per Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain will continue over Dharamshala, Manali, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Nahan, Tehri, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Kedarnath and Badrinath due to the persistent weather systems. Pleasant weather conditions are also anticipated to continue across both the states and it is one of the best time to plan a getaway to the hills of North India for a lovely vacation.
