Monsoon 2017 has made an onset over entire West Coast including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Maharashtra along with cities lying over the Karnataka coast. During the last few days, there have been many areas which have witnessed good Monsoon rains. In fact, the three-digit rain saga had also persisted over the region for at least a few days.

While those three digit rains have witnessed a setback, moderate to heavy Monsoon rains continue to lash the region. In fact, in a span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Honavar witnessed a whopping 78.6 mm of rainfall followed by Panjim where 60 mm rain was recorded.
Other areas to have received good rains include Karwar 58.8 mm, Vengurla 57 mm, Ratnagiri 15 mm, Mangalore 14 mm, Harnai 2 mm, and Mumbai 0.7 mm.

These weather activities can be attributed to the presence of an active Monsoon surge. Due to this, moisture incursion has been taking place resulting in good rains over the region.
Now, during the next 24 hours, most of these areas will witness light to moderate rains. However, the intensity of these rains will not be as high as the last few days. In fact, rains are likely to reduce over Mumbai and its adjoining areas.
