Since last four to five days, good rains are going on over Bihar. During pre- monsoon season, Bihar did not get enough rains and drought like conditions prevailed over the state.
Quantum of rain was very low in the month of June and it ended with a deficiency of 50% over Bihar. But soon after Monsoon covered the entire state and rain commenced in the beginning of July. As on July 6 rain deficiency of Bihar has come down to 10%.
Weather conditions remained same during the last 24 hours as well. In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday, Patna received 25.8 mm rain, Bhagalpur 25.4 mm, Muzzafarnagar 10.2 mm. Gaya, Chapra, Purnea and Supaul also received light rains.
At present, a cyclonic circulation is over Bihar and adjoining parts of Uttar Pradesh, therefore, we expect moderate to heavy showers to continue over many districts of Bihar for the next three to four days.

Rain and thundershower may occur over Araria, Arwal, Aurangabad, Banka, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, East_champaran, Gaya, Gopalganj, Jamui, Jehanabad, Katihar, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Madhubani, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Purnia, Saharsa, Samastipur, Saran, Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Supaul and Vaishali districts of Bihar.

By the end of this month, Bihar is likely to become rain surplus. These rains are very beneficial for the sowing of Kharif crop as the month of July is said to be crucial for kharif crop sowing. It will immensely benefit the farmers and will boost the agriculture produce. Weather across the state is pleasant and temperatures are not expected to increase.
