The state of Uttarakhand has been a weather-active pocket and so has the capital city of Dehradun. Between July 1-13, the city recorded a whopping 481.2 mm of rain with the monthly normal being 630 mm. Moreover, since day 1 of July, Dehradun has been recording rains on all days. In fact, three digit rains of 124 mm of rain was witnessed on July 5.
During the last 24 hours, Dehradun recorded 74 mm of rain. In the coming days also, Dehradun is expected to see some good rainfall activity. Usually, the region sees rains in view of the oscillation of trough or Western Disturbance.
A Cyclonic Circulation is over Central Uttar Pradesh which is shifting along the foothills, which will take the trough north, close to the foothills. Thus, more rain is likely for Dehradun in the next 5-6 days.
