Monsoon rains to bid adieu to Madhya Pradesh after next 24 hours

October 2, 2019 3:47 PM | Skymet Weather Team

Monsoon 2019 has been giving extending rains over parts of the country, triggering floods over many states as well. Madhya Pradesh too continued with good rains during the last 24 hours wherein Indore saw light rains, while Guna and Gwalior recorded moderate showers.

These rains were on account of the  movement of the low pressure area which was moving across Madhya Pradesh. But now, the system has weakened into a cyclonic circulation over Northeast and Southeast Uttar Pradesh.

Thus, we do not expect any significant rains over Madhya Pradesh. However, scattered light to moderate rains would occur over Northeast Madhya Pradesh like Sidhi, Satna, Pana, Umaria, and Damoh during the next 24 hours. This would be the last spell of rains of the Monsoon season.

Thereafter, weather would become mainly dry with only isolated activity on account localised developments. By October 5, weather would start clearing from northern and eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. Weather would go dry over most parts of Madhya Pradesh by October 8 leading to clear sky conditions. This would pave way for bright sunshine resulting in rise in day temperatures.

According to weathermen, the Monsoon withdrawal is expected from West Madhya Pradesh between October  8 and 10. Day temperatures would see gradual rise but night temperatures will be dropping marginally.
