The Monsoon 2016 has gone from relentless to unforgiving over Central India. As of now, the state Madhya Pradesh has received excess rainfall whereas its neighbouring state Chhattisgarh has received comparatively lesser rainfall.
At present the axis of Monsoon trough is passing through Bikaner, centre of low pressure area, Satna, Gaya, Bankura, Diamond Harbour and finally towards Northeast Bay of Bengal.
The present weather system in the form of a low pressure area over Madhya Pradesh is likely to weaken further. This would result in less rain activity but simultaneously another low pressure area is brewing over Odisha coast. Now this weather system is likely to move inlands and move in a westerly north-westerly direction, resulting good rains over Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Chhattisgarh recorded almost no rains over the state in last 24 hours. But light rains are likely to happen over the state and the intensity may increase further after 24 hours with the help of low pressure area which will form over Odisha coast.
At present West Madhya Pradesh is rainfall surplus by 41%, whereas East Madhya Pradesh is rainfall surplus by 33%. But its neighbouring state Chhattisgarh is 5% below the normal mark of Monsoon rains. But the good news is that these rainfall figures are more likely to go up.
