Monsoon rains likely in Bankura, Haora, Hugli, Purulia in West Bengal on Saturday

After recording some heavy Monsoon rains on Friday, parts of West Bengal are once again gearing up for more showers. All thanks to the active Monsoon conditions prevailing over East India. In span of last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Friday, Midnapore has recorded 84 mm of rain, followed by Digha at 36 mm.

According to Skymet Weather, a fresh cyclonic circulation has developed over North Bay of Bengal, which has infused fresh Monsoon surge over the region. It has also pulled the east-west trough that has been running across the foothills of Himalayas and is now running through Indo-Gangetic plains.

Moreover, a north-south trough is also extending from East Bihar till North Andhra Pradesh across East Coast, which will further enhance the rains.

Weather has already become conducive for rains over the region and intense lightning and thunderclouds are seen over several parts. Rains are likely to begin anytime soon.

Weathermen predict light to moderate rain over parts of Bankura, Barddhaman, Birbhum, East Midnapore, Haora, Hugli, Kolkata, Murshidabad, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, Purulia, South 24 Parganas and West Midnapore districts of West Bengal during Saturday afternoon. isolated heavy spells are likely during the next 24 hours.

These weather activities would also be accompanied with intense lightning strikes and squally winds.

Moreover, active Monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over Bihar and similar weather activity will continue over the region for the next 24-48 hours.

With these rains in offing, comfortable weather conditions are likely to persist during the day but evenings and mornings will be pleasant. However, increase in humidity may cause some discomfort.
