June ended on a rainy note for Maharashtra, with its most cities recording rains continuously for last many days. Last 24 hours were no different, wherein coastal areas recorded heavy to extremely heavy rains, while the interior parts settled with moderate showers with some heavy spells.
According to Skymet Weather, active to vigorous Monsoon conditions can be seen over the region. All thanks to the scores of weather systems prevailing over the state.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over Southeast Rajasthan, while another cyclonic circulation is seen over Odisha. An off-shore trough is also seen running along the West Coast from South Gujarat to Kerala.

With so many systems around, humid winds are blowing over Maharashtra, resulting in rains of varying intensity. In the span of 24 hours from 8:30 am on Saturday, Dahanu recorded 116 mm of rain, Mahabaleswar 77 mm, Mumbai 49 mm, Nashik 45 mm, Yeotmal 29 mm, Akola 29 mm, Amraoti 29 mm, Nagpur 25 mm and Aurangabad 15 mm.
With these systems sustaining strength, we expect rains to continue over parts of the state. While, Coastal will continue with heavy showers, Vidarbha region will continue with moderate rains with one or two heavy spells.
Meanwhile, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada will continue with light rains. However, one or two good spells cannot be ruled out. Pune will also receive light showers. Being a rain shadow area, the city usually does not record much rains during the Monsoon season.
