Monsoon is once again active in Madhya Pradesh. After Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and the plains of North India, it’s time for Madhya Pradesh to witness another spate of heavy Monsoon showers. Rainfall seems to increasing in Madhya Pradesh as of now.
During last 24 hours, Satna received 53 mm of rainfall. In fact, other places in the northern parts of Madhya Pradesh also received good rains. Indore received 22 mm of rainfall on Saturday while Khajuraho received 54.5 mm.
This spell of rainfall could be attributed to the upper air cyclonic circulation prevailing over central parts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining North Madhya Pradesh. This weather system has moved little upwards and now lies over central parts of Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. Under its influence, we can expect a low pressure area to develop over the region during next 24 hours.
Madhya Pradesh has already witnessed the fury of Monsoon this year. In the second week of July, relentless rains over Madhya Pradesh triggered floods in the state. Satna was torn apart and at least 400 people had to leave their homes and shift to higher grounds. About ten people were reportedly killed due to flood and excessive rainfall.
