The Monsoon has now entered over Jharkhand and covered some more parts of Bihar. The present condition is favorable for Monsoon to cover even more parts of Jharkhand and Bihar during the next 24 hours.
Yesterday’s Low-Pressure Area now lies over South Jharkhand, adjoining Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining areas. The upper air system is seems to be titling southwestwards with height.
During the last 24 hours, significant rains have occurred over most parts of Jharkhand and Bihar. Heavy rainfall occurred over the city of Daltonganj. Moderate spells of rain were witnessed at many places over both the states.
Yesterday, Bhagalpur recorded 10.6 mm of rains, Farbesganj 16.2 mm, Bokaro 29 mm, Daltonganj 60 mm, Gaya 2.1 mm, Muzaffarpur 5.8 mm, Patna 3.6 mm and Purnea received 5.1 mm.
The morning temperatures have now dropped significantly over the region and strong south-easterly winds are prevailing. Today also, we expect widespread moderate rains over Jharkhand with a few heavy spells. Western parts of Bihar will also receive moderate spells at many places.
However, the rainfall activities are set to reduce tomorrow onward.
Due to the rainy spells and thick clouding, temperatures are set to drop significantly over the area. As of now, Jharkhand is running rain deficient by 69% and Bihar is deficient by 55%. Present weather conditions show that these figures might soon catch up.
