Delhi has been witnessing Monsoon rains and thundershowers only in patches. At present, Delhi is rain deficient by 39 percent as it has received 212.3 mm of rains against the normal of 348.4 mm till date.
Now, the Axis of Monsoon Trough is shifting towards North. The Depression which weakened into a Well-Marked Low Pressure has kept the western end of the Trough towards South. Also, in the past 24 hours, Safdarjung recorded 0.2 mm of rains while traces of rain were recorded near the Ridge area.
Now as per the experts, we expect scattered yet short spells of rains over Delhi and NCR today. While the intensity of these rains is expected to increase tomorrow, i.e., on August 13. Thereafter, intermittent rains are expected until August 18. During this time the rains will be patchy in nature and isolated pockets might see heavy rains as well.
With these rains in offing, the warm and humid weather is expected to become comfortable. Thus, we can say that there will be a relief from muggy weather. Also, day temperature is expected to be in its lower 30s.
Weather Alert For Delhi and NCR
Short spells of rain and shower would affect few places of Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Sonipat, New Delhi, Baghpat, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad during the next 1-2 hours.
