Monsoon rains continue to stomp Bangalore

June 26, 2016 3:37 PM |

Inside - Bangalore

Continuous Monsoon rain has been going on over the city of Bangalore since June 5. It was only on June 17, weather remained slightly dry. Though rain intensity over Bangalore has not been very impressive only light to moderate showers are going on.

Even with light to moderate rains, the silicon city has surpassed its monthly average and doubled it. But we don’t expect a significant increase in the rain intensity over Bangalore in next few days.

In the meantime Bangalore will witness on and off showers and will continue to do so. There may be a marginal increase in rain intensity around June 27-28, but thereafter subdued rainfall activity will continue.

Maximum temperatures have not crossed 30 degree Celsius which makes the weather pleasant. The last time Bangalore touched 30 degree Celsius was on June 10. Despite the on and off light rainfall activity and high humidity, weather will be comfortable.

Previously June 2012 was the driest in the last 10 years with 7.2 mm of rainfall. Back in June 2009 the city recorded its highest rainfall of 204.6 mm in last 10 years. This time around more than 170 mm of rainfall has happened. It may not break the record of last 10 years but it is sure that it will be pleasant month.
