In wake of these good showers, all the regions of Maharashtra barring Vidarbha are rain surplus. As on June 2, Konkan & Goa region is rain surplus by 18%, Madhya Maharashtra by 32%, Marathwada by 18%, while Vidarbha is rain deficit by 6%.

According to the Skymet Weather, the prevailing off-shore trough along the West Coast has been responsible for these good rains. But now, the off-shore trough has weakened marginally. Due to this, intensity of rain is likely to decrease over Konkan region for the next 2-3 days.

However, Vidarbha will continue with on and off light to moderate showers. In fact, weathermen predict that rain intensity may increase after 3-4 days

Meanwhile, Monsoon over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra will remain subdued, though isolated rains will continue but moderate to heavy falls are unlikely for the next 3-4 days

With this drop in the rainfall figures, the rain surplus for the regions may reduce marginally by the end of this week.
