Monsoon rains which have been on a break, are all set to revisit Delhi once again. According to Skymet Weather, weather conditions are favorable for the rains to make appearance during the next 24 hours only.
Though intensity of rains will be light on Saturday but will gradually pick up pace thereafter. Weathermen predicts, it will be a prolonged spell of rains which is likely to continue for the next 3-4 days.
During this time, light to moderate rains are likely to lash the national capital, with few isolated heavy spells as well.
According to Skymet Weather, these rains can be attributed to the weather systems prevailing near Delhi-NCR. The axis of Monsoon trough has shifted southwards and is running across northern plains in close proximity to Delhi-NCR.
Moreover, the cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas have now shifted in northwestwards over central parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Now, the interaction between these two systems will give widespread rain and thundershowers over Delhi-NCR, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi has already surpassed its monthly average rainfall. So far the city has 233.7 mm of rain against the monthly normal rainfall of 187 mm.
