Monsoon hit Mumbai on Saturday and brought some relief to Mumbaikars from the scorching heat. But this cheer did not last long as torrential rains on Sunday disrupted normal life across the city.

Several areas got waterlogged and smooth movement of traffic was severely affected due to the rain. Flooding was reported from Malad, Andheri,Versova, Dadar, Parel, Chembur and many other parts of the city. Two important subways at Malad and Chembur also got flooded thereby affecting vehicular traffic. The worst affected was Dadar and Hindmata localities.

Rail traffic also took a blow with local trains running late by almost 20-30 minutes. Morning hour commuters and businessmen were left inconvenienced. Flight services from Mumbai were also affected due to low visibility.

Meanwhile, we at Skymet Weather forecast intermittent heavy rainfall that will continue to lash Mumbai in the next 24 hours.
