As predicted by Skymet Weather, rains occurred during the last 24 hours also. In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Thursday, Sikar recorded 64 mm of rains, Bhilwara 58.2 mm rain, Pilani 42 mm, Sawai Madhopur 40 mm, Udaipur 35.6 mm, Tonk 34 mm and Ajmer 29.5 mm of rains.

In the same time span, Churu recorded 17.4 mm, Bundi 11 mm, Chittorgarh 6.5 mm, Jaisalmer 4.2 mm and Mount Abu 3 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the axis of Monsoon trough is extending via northern parts of Rajasthan and a cyclonic circulation is also persisting over North Madhya Pradesh and adjoining regions. Therefore, we expect moderate intensity Monsoon rains with few heavy spells to continue to occur over East Rajasthan during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, the western districts will observe isolated light rains only.

Places such as Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Sikar, Dhaulpur, Bharatpur, Pilani, and Udaipur are expected to receive hefty showers. In fact, pink city Jaipur is also likely to witness good spells of Monsoon rains.

Thereafter, the intensity of rains will reduce. However, another good spell of rain is likely around July 24 due to the westward movement of a fresh low pressure which is now over Odisha. These rains are anticipated to stay for about two days.

Thus, we expect on and off rains over eastern parts of the state until July 26. On the other side, scanty rains are in the forecast for West Rajasthan. In fact, July 26 onward weather will be mainly dry.

Rain and thundershower with lightning at some places likely over Ajmer, Alwar, Baran, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Bikaner, Bundi, Chittorgarh, Churu, Dausa, Dhaulpur, Dungarpur, Hanumangarh, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jalor, Jhalawar, Jhunjhunun, Jodhpur, Karauli, Kota, Nagaur, Pali, Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar, Sirohi, Tonk and Udaipur.
