The last 24 hours were no different and moderate spells of rainfall occurred over the capital city of West Bengal. In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Kolkata recorded a good 13 mm of rain.

These weather conditions over Kolkata can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation which currently lies over North West Bay of Bengal. Along with this, a trough is also extending from Punjab up to North East Bay of Bengal across Gangetic West Bengal.

Due to the effect of these two weather systems, moisture incursion has been taking place resulting in cloud development over Kolkata.

As per skymet weather, these weather activities are expected to continue throughout the week. The city of joy will remain joyous as Monsoon Rains of varied intensity will continue to lash Kolkata for at least the next few days.

With this, temperatures will also be in control leading to pleasant weather conditions during the evening hours.
