After witnessing a relatively dry and hot weather for major part of the monsoon season, northeast will continue to relish the current weather during which rain and clouds will keep the temperature below or near normal.
The eastern end of monsoon trough (region of intensified moist winds) will continue to make its presence felt across the northeastern states. Owing to this weather system moderate to heavy rain will occur over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Light rain is also expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim in the east will also receive rain due to the same weather system. One or two places in these areas may witness heavy rain leading to landslides, especially in Sikkim.
