Monsoon over Maharashtra is yet to be declared but on and off scattered rainfall activity has been happening over the state for quite some time now. These on and off showers can be attributed as pre-Monsoon showers.

For first week or two Marathwada region received more than its usual. The surplus rains were recorded for quite some time. But in the recent past few days, rains have gone to almost insignificant.

Up until June 12 the Marathwada region received on and off good rains but there has been no sign rains since June 12 to June 17. The condition has been almost dry with hardly any weather activity. But there are some good rains on the cards for Marathwada.

The dry weather of last few days has made the rainfall for Marathwada region fall to a deficit of -26%. This has happened even after the above normal rainfall in the first 12 days of June.

The cyclonic circulation that is brewing over Bay of Bengal is moving closer to Marathwada and is expected to give good spell of rains for 2-3 days over the region. It is very much hopefully that this system will provide some good rains between June 18 and June 20.
