In the last 24 hours from 8:30 am on Monday, Ramagundam recorded heavy rain to the tune of 40.6 mm. In the same time span, Nizamabad witnessed 4.4 mm of rains, Hanamkonda 3.6 mm and Hyderabad 3 mm of rains.

As per Skymet Weather, the Monsoon rain belt is expected to shift north towards Vidarbha and adjoining Southeast Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, the rain intensity over Telangana is expected to reduce.

Moderate to heavy Monsoon rains will take a back seat now. However, scattered rains will continue to appear. The northern districts such as Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak, and Warangal are more likely to witness rainfall activity. Meanwhile, the intensity of rains will be less over Khammam, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar. The capital city, Hyderabad will receive light to moderate showers and heavy rains are ruled out for the next few days.

Now, the cyclonic circulation over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Odisha which was giving good rains have shifted towards Chhattisgarh. The system is expected to further move in a northwest direction leading to decreased rain intensity over Telangana.

Until now, the maximum temperatures over most districts of the state have been settling in higher 20s due to which the weather was comfortable. Now, the day maximums are likely to rise gradually by 2°C to 3°C leading to warm and humid weather conditions.
