Rain in Gujarat

Many districts of Gujarat have been witnessing moderate to heavy rains for the last two to three days especially the southern districts like Valsad, Surat, and Bhavnagar. In the past 24 hours, Valsad recorded 54 mm of rains, Bhavnagar 29.4 mm, and Dwarka 11.3 mm of rains.

Thus, we can say that many parts of Gujarat have received good rains along with Saurashtra and Kutch, which too recorded light to moderate rains.

The rain deficiency of the Gujarat region is 30% while Saurashtra and Kutch are rain deficit by 55%. As per our experts, the rain activities will be a sight over the Kutch region by tonight. Eventually, moderate to heavy rains will be a sight over many parts of Saurashtra and Kutch on July 28 and July 29.

Places such as Banaskantha, Himmatnagar, Bhuj and Kutch region will see moderate to heavy rains. The irrigation facilities are not that upgraded in these regions; hence these rains are very likely to bring in some relief to the farmers.

Whereas, Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Dwarka may also see light to moderate rains. Hence, we can say that the northern districts of the Kutch region are very likely to receive good Monsoon rain and thundershowers during the next two to three days.

With these rains in offing, localised flooding can be a sight as well. Also, weather watchers and agriculture experts believed that the cyclonic storm Vayu that skirted the Gujarat coast in June brought early showers with heavy to very heavy rains in some pockets. But it disturbed the monsoon progress through Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Gujarat. Hopefully, these rains will act as a boon for the residents and farmers as well.
