Since the last few days scattered light to moderate rain has been going over many parts of Bihar and even one or two districts received heavy spells. Places such as Bhagalpur received 65 mm of rain and Purnea has received 39 mm in last 24 hours.

These rains were happening over the state as the axis of Monsoon trough was running through the state. But now the axis of Monsoon trough has shifted south and is now running via East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

So, according to meteorologist at Skymet Weather, we expect rain that the intensity of rain to decrease over the state soon. But scattered rains can be expected to continue over North Bihar for another 24 hours.

During this Monsoon, Bihar has faced flooding in many areas. Flood sin Bihar happen due to the heavy downpour over Nepal. Even now many areas of Nepal have received moderate to heavy rains in last 24-48 hours and whenever foothills of Nepal receives good rains the danger of flood looms over Bihar.

But fortunately this time, these heavy rains are short lived and rain intensity will decrease over Bihar and Nepal, so the immediate danger of floods is not there.

At present the state of Bihar is running short on rainfall downpour. The state is rainfall deficient by 10% and with the drawback of rains the chances of any improvement expected should be ruled out.
