The West Coast bore the brunt of a downpour overnight which has bolstered the hope of normal Monsoon rains over the region just when Monsoon has started to crawl towards India. The pre-Monsoon rains that were lingering over parts of West Coast for last few days, picked up pace in last 24 hours, indicating a possible coverage over entire West Coast soon.
A low pressure has developed over Lakshadweep and Southeast Arabian Sea due to which heavy to very heavy rain has been observed in Karnataka, Konkan and Goa. As the system intensifies and moves in North, Northwest direction, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to cover entire West Coast including Karnataka and Maharashtra. Moreover, as the system moves northwards, rain over South and coastal Gujarat is likely in next 2-3 days.
