This year pre-Monsoon showers during the month of June remained very good over Gujarat. During the last three to four days moderate to heavy showers occurred over many districts of Gujarat. Central and South Gujarat have been receiving the maximum amount of rainfall activities.
Though Monsoon has yet not covered the major parts of Gujarat, it has marked an onset over the Valsad district of the state recently. In the last 24 hours from 08:30 am on Sunday, Rajkot observed 9 mm of rains, Amreli 8 mm and Vallabh Vidyanagar recorded 12 mm of showers.
As per Skymet Weather, a trough which was earlier near Gujarat coast is active from Maharashtra to Kerala coast. Therefore we expect rains to reduce over the state now. The weather activities are likely to remain subdued for the next three to four days.

By June 17-18, we expect another spell of rain to commence over southern regions of Gujarat. Monsoon normally covers most parts of Gujarat by June 15 but this time we expect a delay of three to four days for Southwest Monsoon to grip the entire state.

The recent rains have immensely benefitted the farmers as the rains have restored soil moisture for Kharif crop sowing. Even the water reservoirs will also get more water.
At present, the temperatures are settling below normal but gradually temperatures are likely to increase in the next two to three days by 2–3°C.
